Introducing

About me

My name is Don, at the time 15 years old and I live in The Netherlands close to Eindhoven. I am still at school studying, next year I am going to the police school to continue and complete my study.
I did some scuba diving but I never really finished the outdoor license, I also like mountain biking and of course cycling, and exploring.
Most of the time I am spending on school and some gaming on my PC or on the Playstation.

The plan

So my plan is to go cycling, it's an easy task only to make it a bit harder to do it in Denmark.
I have never been alone on a vacation, I never been on a cycling vacation and I never set-up a tent alone, and I am going to do it all!
This year is my exam year at school that means that my vacation would be longer then normal I am taking this opportunity to go to Denmark, and I can stay until the money runs out.

I am going to start in Kolding I will get there with a train from Holland, that's all I plan, I am only going to search for some places I want to visit, I will visit them whenever I want, there is no plan to stick on, it's 'free for all'.

I know there are so called 'Shelters' and some kind of free nature camping spots, I will try to camp at those places to save money, so I only have to pay for life supplies like food and water, the 'shelters' and camping spots do not all have fresh water or even a toilet! They could be completely remotely and only accessible with GPS coordinates!

Why Denmark?

Earlier this year school gave me the opportunity to do an exchange with Danish students I joined this and saw how nice Danish people are and I saw some of the environment but were where most of the time spending in the bus driving on the motorway... I first wanted to go to Norway but I will need a new bike for that which is to expensive, so Denmark was a good way to go in the middle some hills and I could take my own bike on the trip. Denmark is perfect as a cycling environment, they got special roads for cyclers and they hills are not mountains, because we are not used of hills here in Holland.

My ride

To go to Denmark I need a bike as I said before I am going to use my very own bike, it's an Gazelle Eclipse 2012, it's a Dutch made bike with a 8 speed. It's not special but it will get me up and safely down the hills. Further it can carry up to 25 Kg's on the back and I got a target weight of 12 Kg's to take with me so that will make it easily, further it got simple roller brakes with some fancy air intakes.
It's a comfortable bike and got to make a lot of kilometers without hearting your butt.
